Recently, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) announced the list of institutions selected for the 2026 Youth Science and Technology Club Support Program. The project “Hunan Institute of Engineering 2026 Youth Science and Technology Club Support Program,” submitted under the leadership of HIE’s Association for Science and Technology, was successfully selected and approved for special funding, making HIE one of nine universities in Hunan Province to receive this support.
The Youth Science and Technology Club Support Program is coordinated by CAST and organized by the CAST Children and Youth Science Center. It selects and supports high-quality student science and technology clubs from universities across the country, aiming to enhance the CAST’s capacity to serve and guide reserve talents in scientific and technological innovation.
Over the years, HIE has consistently regarded the development of student science and technology clubs as an important measure for fulfilling the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education and expanding the pathways of extracurricular education. The university has continued to improve its club cultivation and management mechanisms, promoting coordinated progress in club standardization and innovative talent cultivation. This successful selection is an important reflection of the recognition by CAST of HIE’s work in its Association for Science and Technology and the level of its student science and technology club development.
Going forward, HIE will take this opportunity to make good use of CAST’s resource platforms, guide the university’s Association for Science and Technology and relevant student science and technology clubs in steadily advancing project implementation, focus on cutting-edge fields of scientific and technological innovation in line with disciplinary and program strengths, deepen the collaborative mechanism integrating science and education with practice-based education, and continuously improve the quality and vitality of science and technology club development, contributing to the cultivation of reserve talents in science and technology with both innovative spirit and practical ability.
