Chen Yandong, male, Ph.D., is a member of the China National Democratic Construction Association, doctoral supervisor, a distinguished professor with Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education. He is a member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a member of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association.

    He currently serves as the Deputy Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Electric Power Conversion and Control, a Council Member of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, an Academic Committee Member of the National Key Laboratory for High-Efficiency and High-Quality Conversion for Electric Power, and the Head of Science and Technology Innovation Team in Hunan Provincial Universities .

    His notable awards include the National Science and Technology Progress Award for Innovative Team (First Prize), the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize), the National Technology Invention Award (Second Prize), the National Teaching Achievement Award (Second Prize), the China Patent Gold Award, two China Patent Excellence Awards, two Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards (First Prize), one Special Prize and two First Prizes of the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award, and one First Prize of the Chinese Power Supply Society Science and Technology Award. He has also received honors such as the China Youth Science and Technology Award, the Delta Scholar Award, and the Youth Scientific Breakthrough Award of the Chinese Power Supply Society Science and Technology Award.

    As the Vice President of Hunan Institute of Engineering, he is responsible for science and technology, journals, graduate education, innovation and entrepreneurship, in charge of the Research Management Office (Journal Press) and the Graduate School (Graduate Student Affairs Office). Additionally, he liaises with the college of Electrical and Information Engineering and the College of Excellence Engineers, college of Innovation and Enterpreneurship.
